Reshape Your Body With CoolSculpting™
We all want to look and feel our best. Sometimes, in spite of all our best efforts, diet and exercise just aren’t enough to burn away the fat you want. At ROGA in Houston, Texas, we understand your desire to target those hard-to-conquer places where stubborn fat cells remain. That’s why we offer CoolSculpting in Houston, a revolutionary body contouring procedure that doesn’t just shrink fat cells – it destroys them.
Say goodbye to stubborn fat and hello to the body you’ve always wanted! CoolSculpting™ a completely non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment for fat reduction. This technology was developed by world-renowned dermatologists Dr. Dieter Manstein and Dr. Rox Anderson at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital.
How Does Coolsculpting work?
CoolSculpting™ has men and women in Houston looking and feeling their best without surgical incisions, anesthesia, or downtime. Unlike surgery or liposuction which requires substantial time away from work, CoolSculpting™ can be performed in as little as 35 minutes. CoolSculpting™ works by applying their process of cooling called Cryolipolysis to the stubborn area for 35 minutes. After treatment, the targeted fat cells go into apoptosis – cell death. This allows your body to start the natural process of eliminating cell waste and getting rid of those targeted fat cells permanently.
What are the benefits of fat reduction with CoolSculpting?
What’s the benefit of losing up to a quarter of the unwanted fat in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, or even under your chin without any incisions, any downtime, or any recovery? That’s the benefit of CoolSculpting. There’s a reason CoolSculpting was the first, and still the most popular, non-invasive method of reducing pockets of unwanted fat.
At River Oaks, our patients are amazed at how easy it is to lose unwanted fat and slim their contour with CoolSculpting. Here’s a list of all the benefits:
- Removes 20-25 percent of the fat in the treatment areas.
- Completely non-invasive.
- No injections. No incisions.
- During your session, you can read, take a nap, watch videos, whatever.
- There is no downtime.
- There is no recovery.
- There are no reactions.
- FDA approval for eight different treatment areas.
- No danger of skin burning or damage.
- Over 6 million procedures have been done worldwide.

Is Freezing Fat Safe?
CoolSculpting™ has been approved by the FDA to target and destroy fat cells only. With more than 4 million performed worldwide, the procedure is safe, precise, controlled, and effective, eliminating fat for good. The end result is a more sculpted you!
Who is a Candidate for CoolSculpting in Houston?
CoolSculpting is perfect for both men and women who want to reshape their abdomen, flank (love handles or muffin top), inner thighs, outer thighs, chin, or upper arms.
Is there anything I need to do before my CoolSculpting session?
Really the only thing necessary is to stop taking any medications or supplements that can thin the blood, such as fish oil, aspirin, ibuprofen, even turmeric or ginger. These can increase bruising when the CoolSculpting panels apply suction to the targeted skin and fat tissue.
If you’re working on losing a few pounds, you may want to finish that and get to your goal before you come to see us for your CoolSculpting session. The slimmer the target areas are, the more contoured CoolSculpting will make them.
How Long Does Cryolipolysis Take?
To provoke cryolipolysis, it is necessary to cool a targeted area of tissue for one hour. During this set time frame, the liquid within fat cells crystallizes, causing the body to react by eliminating those cells. Appointment times will vary based on the number of areas we are treating. For example, CoolSculpting treatment that focuses on the midsection will take about sixty minutes. Any additional areas of treatment during the same appointment will increase the visit time by one hour.
Is there any downtime after a CoolSculpting session?
Immediately after we remove the CoolSculpting panels we massage the treatment area. This gets the blood flowing back into the area and alleviates any lingering numbness. After that, you can get right back to your normal activities. There isn’t any downtime at all.
Can I exercise after a CoolSculpting session?
As mentioned above, there isn’t any downtime after CoolSculpting at River Oaks. There’s nothing stopping you from going to a yoga class or going for a walk after your session.
How many Coolsculpting treatments will I need?
The CoolSculpting technique reduces fat in a given area by up to 23%, according to the device manufacturer. If there is minimal fat present at the time of treatment, just one session may achieve the desired extent of reduction. For more dramatic sculpting, treatments may be repeated as desired to enhance body contouring further. Usually, treatments are scheduled anywhere from one to four months apart to give the body time to metabolize the fat that has been targeted in the previous treatment.
How long after my CoolSculpting session will I see my results?
These are not immediate results. While the freezing temperatures destroy up to a quarter of the fat cells across the treatment area, it takes some time for the body to remove these cells through the lymphatic system. Most patients start to see a difference in about three weeks, but the most dramatic slimming starts to show itself after about two months. The body is now really shedding those destroyed fat cells. This process keeps slimming your contour for up to six months.
Is CoolSculpting painful?
When the cooling is first directed downward, there is an intense feeling of cold. This is only isolated, however, and it lasts for around 10 minutes. At that point, the treatment area becomes numb and you don’t feel anything for the remainder of your session.
Otherwise, when the CoolSculpting panels draw up your skin, underlying tissue, and fat there is a sensation of suction, but it’s not painful in the least.
These are easy-to-tolerate treatments. Our River Oaks patients read, watch videos, or even take a nap during their session; that’s how pain-free they are.
How long does Coolsculpting last?
CoolSculpting works by destroying fat cells. After the desired results have been achieved, they can last indefinitely if lifestyle habits support weight maintenance and general fitness. A well-balanced diet and regular exercise such as walking, running, yoga, or other activities are all that most people need to sustain a stable weight and toned body.
What Body Parts can Coolsculpting Treat?
You need to remember that CoolSculpting isn’t a weight-loss procedure; it is a body-contouring procedure. It is not meant for weight loss across your body, but for stubborn pockets of fat that are almost impossible to target with dietary changes and exercise.
The FDA has approved CoolSculpting for treatment of these areas:
- Back fat
- Bra line fat
- Underneath the buttocks
- Double chin
- Upper arms
How does CoolSculpting work on smaller areas like the bra line or for a double chin?
CoolSculpting developed a smaller handpiece known as CoolMini. For smaller areas, we use this handpiece to freeze the fat cells. Otherwise, the procedure is the same.
What Are The Side Effects of Fat Freezing Cells?
In general, CoolSculpting is a conservative treatment method with a low instance of complications. However, it is important for prospective patients to keep in mind that adverse reactions, though rare, are possible. Usually, side effects from CoolSculpting are limited to:
- Temporary redness
- Skin sensitivity
